**4-Hour Course on Aggressive Driving**

If you have received a reckless driving ticket, it is highly recommended that you complete the 4-Hour Reckless/Aggressive Driver Course and the 8-Hour Driving Improvement Course (DIP) before your court date.

This 12-hour educational program, consisting of the 4-hour Reckless/Aggressive Driver Course and the 8-hour DIP, is available to anyone accused of aggressive or reckless driving. The four-hour course covers the psychology of aggressive behavior, the causes of reckless driving, and strategies for avoiding risky situations. Participants will also learn safe driving techniques for navigating congested roads.

The 4-hour class is held on Sundays, according to the website schedule.

**Preregistration Required for the Program for Reckless Aggressive Drivers (RADEP)**

If you are facing non-alcohol-related reckless or aggressive driving charges, the Reckless Aggressive Driver Program (RADEP) offers a vital 12-hour in-person driver improvement course. This program is essential for organizations that require post-incident driver training and for complying with court and state traffic regulations.

The course effectively combines the National Safety Council’s innovative Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving course, which emphasizes behavioral factors in driving, with the NSC’s 8-hour Defensive Driving course. Participants must complete both sections through Tri-City Driving School; online courses or programs from other providers are not accepted.

**Course Information:**

– **First Part:** Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8 hours)

– **Second Part:** Sunday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (4 hours)

Students will receive a National Safety Council Certificate of Completion upon completing each section.

**Important Information:**

– Preregistration is **required** for this course.

Purpose of the Course. This Online Driver’s Manual Course has been approved by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles to meet the requirement that any person who has failed the knowledge exam three times must complete an eight-hour course of instruction based on the Virginia Driver’s Manual before they can take the knowledge examination a fourth time. Persons at least 18 years old and persons less than 18 years old who have previously completed the classroom component of driver instruction are eligible for the course. The content of the course is based on materials contained in the Virginia Driver’s Manual, which may be obtained from DMV’s Customer Service Centers and online.

Successful Completion of the Course. You must attend the full eight hours of instruction provided by the course and correctly answer all questions at the end of each section. If you are younger than age 18, you must also provide proof of the previous completion of 36 50-minute periods of the classroom component of driver’s education before taking this course. After meeting these requirements, you will have completed the course.

After you complete the course, you will need to validate your identity to the satisfaction of DTW Driving School. Then DTW Driving School will email an Electronic Re-Examination Certificate of Completion (DTS CE) to the email address provided when you registered for the course. This email message will provide instructions about printing a physical certificate for presentation to the DMV. You may present the physical certificate to the DMV, and you will then be eligible to take the knowledge component of the DMV test a fourth time and subsequent times, if necessary.

You Must Take the Knowledge Examination at DMV. This course does not replace the DMV knowledge exam. Successful completion of this course DOES NOT GUARANTEE that you will pass the DMV examination. Once you register for the online course, there is NO REFUND policy.

Driving Improvement

You have 90 days to finish the course if the Virginia DMV tells you to go to a driver improvement clinic. Once you finish the program, we will electronically report your completion to the DMV. If you are 18 years or older, you will receive 5 safe driving points that will be applied to your demerit points in the order they were incurred. If a judge has ordered you to attend a driver improvement clinic, it is your responsibility to submit your completion certificate to the court by the designated due date. You must also provide the court’s written authorization for point reduction before any such reduction can take place.

You may voluntarily attend a driver improvement clinic once every two years to reduce the accumulated demerit points on your driving record. Completing this clinic will add 5 points to your record. You can choose to either remove points from your record or receive insurance discounts, but not both. Some insurance companies may offer discounts to policyholders who complete a DMV-approved driver improvement clinic, so be sure to check with your insurance agent to see if this benefit is available.

Please note: If you hold a commercial driver’s license, you must take a different class, as this course does not substitute for the 3X FAIL course.

Tri-City Driving School will notify the DMV electronically and provide you with a certificate of completion at the end of the class.

Private lessons are available to teach on days and evenings during the week and on weekends for 1 hour. Private lessons are offered for both teens and adults. Whether you are an adult who has never driven before or a teenager who is about to get a driver’s license, these private lessons can prepare you to take the road test at DMV. If you are a teen, the time-driven can be documented in your driving log. If you would like additional lessons, just let the instructor know, and they will help you with your goal to become a safe and defensive driver. Your instructor will work with you, and if you would like to use the driver’s ed car to do your final road test at DMV, just let the instructor know, and that will be an additional fee. Upon signing up for your package, you will receive an email instructing you to call the office to schedule your lessons. If you need to be picked up for your lessons, speak to the office about adding pickup& drop-off to your lesson package, and that is an additional cost. You must have a learner’s permit or some other document that allows you to legally drive in Virginia to take Individual lessons.

Teen Behind the Wheel Instruction

**Eligibility Requirements:**

– Teens must have held their learner’s permit for 9 months

– Complete a 36-hour classroom course and obtain a DEC-1

(Driver Education Completion Certificate).

– Accumulate at least 45 hours of driving, with 15 hours after sunset.

**Pricing:**

– Teen Driving: $360.00 (includes $15 processing fee; total: $375.00)

– Drivers Ed Classroom (if needed) is online: $175.00 (Online only)

– Teen Behind the Wheel: $360 (processing fee is not included)

Students will pair with another teen for driving practice during sessions.

**Scheduling:**

LEARNER’S PERMIT STUDY SESSION

There is a two-part knowledge exam that is taken on a computer at the DMV. The exam tests your knowledge of traffic signs, motor vehicle laws, and safe driving techniques. Exam questions are taken from information in the Virginia Driver’s Manual. All ten traffic sign questions in Part One must be answered correctly before you can take the general knowledge exam in Part Two. You must score at least 80% on these questions to pass Part Two. Class – we offer three hours of study sessions privately/or with a group (no more than 5 students). To prepare for the knowledge exam, we help students familiarize all the necessary information in the Virginia Driver’s Manual and allow them to take several sample tests. Pre-requisite: This class is intended for individuals that have taken have taken the learner’s permit test one or two times. 3-Fail Driver Manual /Re-Examination Class ( In Person)

RE-EXAMINATION CLASS / The 3-Fail Re-examination course is for individuals who have failed the learner’s test three times. If this happens, you are required to take this course before being allowed to take the test again. The information below is from the Virginia DMV website. Depending on the age and if the classroom portion of Driver Education has been taken, there are a couple of different options. After the DMV information, I explained it a little more. Below that, I will have the applications for all the courses.

If you have failed the knowledge test three times and are age 18 or over, you must either retake the classroom component of driver education (consisting of 36 50-minute classroom sessions) or complete an 8-hour Driver’s Manual course.
The Driver’s Manual course is an 8-hour course based on the Virginia driver’s manual and is designed to better prepare individuals for the knowledge test. The completion date of the driver’s manual course must be after the date of your third knowledge test failure. When you have completed either the classroom component of driver education or the Driver’s Manual course and have provided DMV with your certificate of completion, you can retake the knowledge exam. If you have failed the knowledge test three times and are under age 18, you must retake the classroom component of driver education. If you wish to take the Driver’s Manual course, you must provide proof of having completed the classroom component of driver education before you are allowed to enroll in the Driver’s Manual course.

If the test taker is under 18, taking the classroom portion of Driver Education will count as the student’s required Driver Education class needed to obtain a license. It will also allow the student to retake the Learner’s Test at DMV. We just ask the student to let us know on the first day of class so we know to issue a re-examination certificate upon completion. If the student has already taken the Driver Education class, the 8-hour Driver’s Manual course is all that is required to retest.

If the test taker is 18 or over, there are a couple of different options. The first option is to take the 8-hour Driver’s Manual course or to take the classroom portion of Driver Education. The reason for taking the Driver Education course is beneficial because if you were to take that with a Behind the Wheel course, you could also receive the adult waiver form. This form allows you to take to DMV to receive your license without having to wait the required 60 days and without having to take the Road Test at DMV.

Once you register, there are NO REFUNDS. The cost is $ 225.00 with an $ 8.50 processing fee. Walk-ins are welcome; the cost is $250.00. If there is a special requirement that the student needs to CALL before you register online, the PayPal fee is included when you register online. This is an 8-hour class from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
